In this introductory message of John’s 2nd Epistle, Elder Bryce teaches that this is a personal letter to a Christian friend of the Apostle John. It is basically an abridged version of the 1st Epistle that John wrote. The themes of the letter are the sovereign grace of God, Eternal Sonship, avoiding the antichrist doctrine, and encouragement to live life for others.

“Christian Hospitality” • 2nd John – Elder Bryce Lowrance. The Apostle John wrote a personal letter to an “Elect Lady” and her children who were following the Lord. This letter is basically an abridged version of his first letter, and it focuses on the importance of having the true doctrine of Jesus Christ in order to love others properly. He warns them to not allow antichrist influences into their homes or church, and to keep in mind the truth that Jesus is God’s Son come in the flesh. Jesus gave His life for us to save us from our sins, and teach us how we ought to love others in thankfulness.
