1. “Jesus Christ: The True Superman – Overview of the Book of Hebrews” • Hebrews 1:1-3
“Overview of the Book of Hebrews” • Hebrews 1:1-3 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. In his introductory sermon of the Hebrews Series, Elder Bryce provides historical background information vital to understanding the purpose of the letter. He also gives a summary of the entire book showing the superiority of Jesus Christ and the true Christian religion. Finally, he closes out showing that the first three verses of the letter show that Jesus Christ is the Superior Prophet, the Superior Priest, and the Superior Potentate (King).
This message was preached on Sunday, March 24, 2024.
We apologize for the audio anomalies in this recording. Our heating unit was broken in the sanctuary so we met in the fellowship which has a lot of echo. We have attempted to remove that background noise to give a more clear recording.
2. “The Final Word” or “Divine Revelation Is Complete” • Hebrews 1:1-3
“The Final Word” of “Divine Revelation Is Complete” • Hebrews 1:1-2 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. Speaking again from the first two verses of the letter to the Hebrews, Elder Lowrance teaches how God progressively revealed His identity and will over the space of 1,500 years by the inspired writings of about 45 men. The apex of this revelation was when Jesus came and taught His disciples. Through the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, those men wrote the words of the New Testament and provided for God’s people everything they need to know about God, themselves, and their duty to Him.

3. “The Exaltation of the Son of God” • Hebrews 1:1-3
“The Exaltation of the Son of God” • Hebrews 1:1-3 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. Returning to the opening of the Epistle to the Hebrews, Elder Bryce preaches about how Jesus is exalted above all things because of Who He is and what He has done. Jesus is the heir of all things; He is the Creator of the universe; He is the brightness of the glory of God; He is the visible of the invisible God; He is the Sustainer of the universe and our salvation; He is the sole and successful Savior of the elect of God; and He is at peace sitting at the right hand of the majesty on high.
This message was preached on Sunday, April, 14, 2024.
4. “What God Says About Jesus” • Hebrews 1:4-14
“What God Says About Jesus” • Hebrews 1:4-14 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. The Apostle Paul makes a two-pronged defense of the superiority of Jesus Christ over the angels. The first argument is that Jesus is God. Jesus is the Son; angels are His servants. Christ is King; angels are His subjects. Jesus is the Creator; angels are created beings. Therefore, He is higher than the angels and deserves our praise and worship.
This message was preached on Sunday, April 21, 2024.
5. “Warning #1” • Hebrews 2:1-4
“Warning #1” • Hebrews 2:1-4 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. In the middle of his argument that Jesus Christ is superior to the angels, the Apostle Paul warns of the dangers of not listening to and applying the word of God in our lives. Since, God has spoken to us directly in His Son, we ought to be even more devoted to Him and His kingdom. If we neglect these things, we are in danger of forgetting all the blessings God has for us and that we were saved from our sins.
This message was preached on Sunday, April 28, 2024.
6. “Jesus Is Superior to the Angels Forever” • Hebrews 2:5-18
“Jesus Is Superior to the Angels” • Hebrews 2:5-18 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. After a short but clear warning in the first few verses of chapter 2, the Apostle Paul continues his argument that Jesus is superior to the angels that he began in the first chapter. Not only is Jesus superior because He created all things, He has all things put in subjection under Him in the new heaven and new earth as well. The glorious hope of the resurrection is a great comfort to the elect of God who are secured in Jesus Christ by the covenant of redemption and His finished work on the cross.
This message was preached on Sunday, May 12, 2024.
7. “Consider Jesus” • Hebrews 3:1
“Consider Jesus” • Hebrews 3:1 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. Paul will continue in this chapter proving that Jesus is superior to Moses but he begins with an exhortation to deeper worship. Seeing that the believer is set apart by God in the covenant of redemption beginning in election, it makes logical sense that he would give complete attention and diligent observation of the superiority of Christ. This learning and worship is best done in the place designed and provided by the Father, The church of the living God, the household of God.
This message was preached on Sunday, May 19, 2024.
Special note: Brother Luke Lowrance, son of Elder Bryce, graduated from High School. This sermon contains a graduation charge for him as well.
8. Living in the House of God • Hebrews 3
“Living in the House of God” • Hebrews 3 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. Seeing that we are made partakers of eternal salvation by the covenant of grace, we should take part in our eternal life by being active in church today.
This message was preached on Sunday, May 26, 2024.
9. His Rest • Hebrews 4
“His Rest” • Hebrews 4 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. The children of Israel were not allowed to enter into Canaan’s Land because of their unbelief that God had delivered them, was sustaining them, and would continue to bless them. We are also in danger of missing out on the rest of God when we seek to comfort ourselves with things of the world rather than trusting our Redeemer, Who saved us for all eternity, to take care of our daily needs and help us with our life’s burdens.
This message was preached on Sunday, June 2, 2024.
10. Our Great High Priest • Hebrews 4:14-5:10
“Our Great High Priest” • Hebrews 4:14-5:10 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. The way to God is guarded from us because of our sin. Therefore, we need a high priest to make intercession for us with a Holy God. Jesus Christ is our Great High Priest. He perfectly fills the role of priest in that He offered Himself once for our sins and is compassionately giving us aide in times of need.
This message was preached on Sunday, June 9, 2024.
11. “Don’t Be a Baby” • Hebrews 5:11-14
“Don’t Be a Baby” • Hebrews 5:11-14 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. The Apostle Paul gives another warning to the Hebrew Christians encouraging them to keep focused on Jesus Christ and their profession of Him. Part of that diligence includes studying the word of God and applying it to the way we think and live our lives. God intends for us to grow in grace and in our knowledge about Jesus Christ. Therefore, we ought not to be lethargic in our study of His word. Rather, we should be eager and devoted to learning more about Jesus so that we can shine as bright lights in this world so darkened by sin.

12. “The ABC’s of Jesus Christ” • Hebrews 6:1-3
“The ABC’s of Jesus Christ” • Hebrews 6:1-3 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. The Apostle Paul reminds the Hebrew Christians and us that there are basic principles that we must remember and apply in our discipleship or we will not be properly growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Paul lists six things that roughly group into three categories – 1. The First Steps of a Child of God, 2. The Basics of Church, 3. The Doctrine of Grace.
This message was preached on Sunday, June 23, 2024.
13. “Backsliding” • Hebrews 6:4-9
“Backsliding” • Hebrews 6:4-9 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. In a passage very similar to the “I Am the True Vine” teaching in John 15, the Apostle Paul warns born again children of God to do turn away from the truth and peace that is in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Those who do are not in danger of losing their eternal salvation but they will fill their lives with destruction and sorrow apart from the fellowship of God. Paul also warns that this condition can get so bad that, apart from Divine intervention, they cannot be convinced to repent and return to their Christian walk.
This message was preached on Sunday, June 30, 2024.
14. “Blessed Assurance” • Hebrews 6:9-12
“Blessed Assurance” • Hebrews 6:9-12 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. Following one of the strongest warnings in the Bible about backsliding, the Apostle offers encouragement to believers to press and gain a higher understanding of the work of Christ and assurance of their own salvation by increasing in love toward one another.
This message was preached on Sunday, July 7, 2024.
15. “Our Foundation of Hope” • Hebrews 6:11-20
“Our Foundation of Hope” • Hebrews 6:11-20 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. Our world today is clearly a tumultuous mess that can bring great fear to those who do not or cannot see beyond the present terror. However, the Apostle reminds us in this passage that the children of God can have different perspective on things. When we look to and run to Jesus for refuge, we find that the trials of this world are only temporary. Jesus has already anchored our destination in heaven. So, while we sojourn here, we can have a hope of a better day.

16. “Who Is Melchisedec?” • Hebrews 7:1-3
“Who Is Mechisedec?” • Hebrews 7:1-3 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. Man is full of sin and therefore an offense to the Holy God of heaven. We need a mediator to reconcile us back to God. Jesus Christ is that mediator in the role of King/Priest. Today’s message explores the fact that God put a man named Melchisedec in the Biblical record as a clear type of Christ to show that Jesus is an everlasting priest for us!
This message was preached Sunday, August 11, 2024.
17. “Melchisedec’s Superior Priesthood” • Hebrews 7:4-10
“Mechisedec’s Superior Priesthood?” • Hebrews 7:4-10 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. After a brief review of who Melchisedec was from the first three verses, Elder Lowrance teaches that he was superior to Abraham in that Abraham paid tithes to him and he blessed Abraham. If Melchisedec is greater than Abraham, a priest after that same order is greater than Abraham as well. Therefore, Jesus Christ, our Great High Priest, is greater than Abraham.
This message was preached on Sunday, August 25, 2024.
18. “The Better Way” • Hebrews 7:11-8:6
“The Better Way” • Hebrews 7:11-8:6 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. Perfection, that is what is required for us to be saved and spend eternity with God in glory. That perfection did not come through the Levitical priesthood. Neither does it come from anything in man’s will or abilities. Perfection came through Jesus Christ. Our perfect Great High Priest made the perfect offering of Himself on the cross, and we are perfect in Him.
This message was preached on Sunday, September 1, 2024.
19. “A Better Covenant” • Hebrews 8:6-13
“A Better Covenant” • Hebrews 8:6-13 – Elder Bryce Lowrance The Apostle Paul has already proven the superiority of Jesus Christ over many things in the letter to the Hebrews. He now moves toward one of the high points of the letter with Jesus being the Mediator of a better covenant. Elder Lowrance uses several examples in the Bible that show how God interacts with mankind based on various covenants. In each of these, he shows how God progressively revealed what was truly needed for salvation – perfection. That perfection is found in the everlasting covenant of grace. And since we have eternal salvation in that covenant, we now can and should worship according to the New Testament manner in simple thanksgiving.

20. “A Better Tabernacle” – Part 1 • Hebrews 9:1-2
“A Better Tabernacle” • Hebrews 9:1-2 – Elder Bryce Lowrance The Old Testament Covenant of Worship taught the children of Israel and us that perfection was required in order to be in fellowship with a Holy God. The various items in the tabernacle and temple were pictures of Jesus Christ. In this first sermon about those types and shadows of Christ, Elder Bryce teaches about the various things in the first part of the holy tabernacle. All of these elements point toward Jesus being a greater and more perfect tabernacle (vs. 11) for us.
This message was preached on Sunday, September 22, 2024.
21. “A Better Tabernacle” – Part 2 • Hebrews 9:3-4
“A Better Tabernacle” Part 2 • Hebrews 9:3-5 – Elder Bryce Lowrance The Old Testament Covenant of Worship taught the children of Israel and us that perfection was required in order to be in fellowship with a Holy God. The various items in the tabernacle and temple were pictures of Jesus Christ. Elder Lowrance continues his explanations of the types and shadows in the Holiest of Holies discussing the golden scepter, the manna, Aaron’s rod, the ark, and the tables of the covenant.
This message was preached on Sunday, September 29, 2024.
22. “A Better Tabernacle” – Part 3 • Hebrews 9:5
“Cherubim and The Mercy Seat” • Hebrews 9:5 – Elder Bryce Lowrance Part of understanding how Jesus is a better tabernacle than the one Moses built is to see how all of the elements and ceremonies in the old tabernacle pointed toward the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. In this sermon, Elder Bryce shows the wonders of the omnipresence, omniscience, and omnipotence of God represented in the Cherubim over the ark. One of the most amazing things to see in this image is that all the power of God looks at the mercy seat for justification. This image shows that God sees salvation complete in His Son. Our hope is in the finished work of Jesus Chris plus nothing.
This message was preached on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
23. “A Better Tabernacle” – Part 4 • Hebrews 9:6-14
“A Greater and More Perfect Tabernacle” • Hebrews 9:6-14 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. In this fourth sermon on the superior of Jesus over the old tabernacle, Elder Lowrance shows how the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross frees us to worship God in thankfulness and live our lives for others. When we realize that we are set free from the law of sin and death in Jesus, our conscience is free to worship God in spirit and in truth.
This message was preached on Sunday, October 13, 2024.
24. “Our Great Mediator” • Hebrews 9:15-28
“Our Great Mediator” • Hebrews 9:15-28 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. Our salvation is complete in Jesus Christ. This is made clear by the Apostle Paul when he shows us that Jesus wrote the testament of Eternal Salvation before the world began. Jesus certified the testimony by His death on the death. Jesus rose from the dead and mediates the testimony in the new birth, justification, and eternal security. What comfort we have that nothing was left to man to finish the work. It truly is finished!
This message was preached on Sunday, October 20, 2024.
25. “Jesus Christ – The Antitype” • Hebrews 10:1-18
“Jesus – The Antitype” • Hebrews 10:1-18 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. In this chapter, the Apostle Paul reviews his arguments of how Jesus Fulfills all the types and shadows of the Old Testament and fulfills all the law for us. The law only brings sins to remembrance. Jesus Christ delivers us so that God remembers our sins no more. The law could never make any man perfect. Jesus Christ has forever perfected the elect of God! These wonderful conclusions show us our security in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
This message was preached on Sunday, October 27, 2024.
26. “Therefore” • Hebrews 10:19-25
“Therefore” • Hebrews 10:19-25 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. Having spent nine and half chapters proving the superiority of Christ in all things and showing that Jesus is our great High Priest, the Mediator of our salvation, and the sufficient offering for the sins of God’s people, the Apostle Paul now shows how we should respond to this information. Having such blessings from God, let us respond in grateful service.
This message was preached on Sunday, November 10, 2024.
27. “Forsaking” • Hebrews 10:25-39
“Forsaking” • Hebrews 10:25-39 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. The writer of Hebrews reached the pinnacle of his argument on the superiority of Jesus to all things in the first part of chapter 10. His ultimate point is that God has now blessed man with the opportunity to worship Him with full understanding of Who He is and what He has done for the elect through the finished work of Jesus Christ. He now offers a stern warning to those who leave off regular worship of Jesus in the public assembly. The Lord considers the public worship of the Son to be the most important thing that man can do. We should view it with the same high regard.

28. Living By Faith • Hebrews 11:1-3
“Living By Faith” • Hebrews 11:1-3 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. In Chapter 11, the Apostle continues his encouragement to draw nigh unto God in fellowship rather than drawing back. The chapter begins with an amazing definition of faith. The Hebrew Christians, as well as all born again children of God, possess the Holy Spirit which gives them faith. This intrinsic trust looks for a hope outside of this fallen world. We see in these first few verses that faith allows us to see and believe that the universe was created in order by the Son of God, Jesus Christ. And, if this faith is in us, we can use it to live in hope of glory despite the present troubles of life.
This message was preached on Sunday, December 8, 2024.
29. Righteous Abel • Hebrews 11:4
“Righteous Abel” • Hebrews 11:4 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. The Apostle’s first example from the history of the people of God who walked by faith is Abel. In this lesson we see that Abel was righteous because he was part of the everlasting covenant. When Abel walked by faith, he had a testimony to his own conscience that he was part of this covenant. When we walk by faith, we experience the same assurance, hope, and peace as Abel.

30. Enoch Walked with God • Hebrews 11:5-6
“Enoch Walked with God” • Hebrews 11:5-6 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. In this New Year’s message, Elder Lowrance continues looking at the Old Testament saints who walked by faith and found peace with God. Enoch understood that God had promised an eternal walk with Him so Enoch chose to walk with God while He was here on earth. Each of God’s children has that same promise of adoption, and the same opportunity to live in fellowship with our Father here and now.
This message was preached on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
31. Noah Walked by Faith • Hebrews 11:7
“Noah” • Hebrews 11:7 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. Continuing to look at the Old Testament saints who walked by faith in fellowship with God, Elder Bryce considers Noah. As our Savior told us, the latter days before His return will be a lot like the days of Noah. We have been given a promise of the Lord’s return even though the world doesn’t believe it and visible evidence shows no signs of His coming. So, just as Noah walked with God by faith trusting solely in His word, we should do the same.
This message was preached on Sunday, January 12, 2025.
32. Abraham • Hebrews 11:8-10
“Abraham” • Hebrews 11:8-10 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. Abraham was given very little information when God called him to leave his homeland and go to a land that would be shown to him later. He, his son’s family, and his grandson’s family sojourned in that promised land in tents, only owning a small area to bury their dead. Abraham did not presume to lord over God’s promise. He understood that the physical land promised to him and his posterity pointed toward a greater inheritance. So Abraham sought for a heavenly home and is the perfect example for us to walk by faith.Abraham is the perfect example for us. We are to lose more and more sight of this earth so that we can keep our heavenly home in view.
This message was preached on Sunday, January 19, 2025.
33. Laughing Sarah • Hebrews 11:11-12
“Laughing Sarah” • Hebrews 11:11-12 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. The next example of faith in the Apostle’s list is Sarah. We are shown by this testimony in the New Testament that Sarah did in fact trust God that He would give her a child but the historical account in Genesis shows that her act of faith was also mixed with doubt. This is important to understand because this is the common experience for all children of God. Our faith is not the foundation of our eternal justification but it is the source of our assurance of salvation. When we walk by faith, we have a greater hope.
This message was preached on Sunday, January 26, 2025.
34. Living as a Pilgrim and Stranger • Hebrews 11:13-16
“Living as a Pilgrim and Stranger” • Hebrews 11:13-16 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. For the child of God, this world is foreign country. No matter what we do, we just don’t feel quite at home even when things are going well. This is because our long sought home is in heaven with Jesus. When we walk by faith we have a more sure hope of that home to come.
This message was preached on Sunday, February 2, 2025.
35. Abraham’s Trial of Faith • Hebrews 11:17-19
“Abraham’s Trial of Faith” • Hebrews 11:17-19 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. Through one of the most striking trials of faith we find in the Bible, we learn that walking by faith is not blind faith like many describe it. Abraham did not toss out reason when he willingly offered up Isaac. He reasoned that God would raise him from the dead since he was the promised son. We do not have to take blind leaps of faith either. We have the will of God revealed to us in His word, the Bible. We are called to trust the promises of God and understand that His promises are true!
This message was preached on Sunday, February 9, 2025.
36. The Interesting Case of Isaac’s Faith • Hebrews 11:20
“The Interesting Case of Isaac’s Faith” • Hebrews 11:20 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. Ignoring the declaration of God before Jacob and Esau are born that the elder would serve the younger, Isaac continually favors Esau as the firstborn. Even when he think he is going to die, Isaac tries to bless Esau but accidentally blesses Jacob. When he realizes that he has gone against God’s will, Issac trembles and then ultimately declares in faith that Isaac will be blessed as the promised one.
This message was preached on Sunday, February 16, 2025.
37. Jacob Blesses Joseph’s Sons • Hebrews 11:21
“Jacob Blesses Joseph’s Sons” • Hebrews 11:21 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. Elder Lowrance traces the history of the patriarchs from Abraham to Joseph showing how the children of Israel ended up in Egypt. While there, Jacob blesses Ephraim and Manessah on his death bed. Once again, we see an excellent example of how faith is not blind but is putting trust in the word of God.
This message was preached on Sunday, February, 23, 2025.
38. Joseph’s Bones • Hebrews 11:22
“Joseph’s Bones” • Hebrews 11:22 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. Joseph believed the promise of God that his family would return to the promised land so he had his family swear an oath that his bones would be taken back to that land when God delivered them in the future. This shows that he sought another country like his forefathers and believed in the resurrection. Elder Lowrance traces the fulfillment of this promise and shows how Shechem is a vital place of covenant giving and renewal and experiences with God. Shechem is a picture of the deliverance of God in the work of Jesus Christ.
This message was preached on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
39. Moses’ Parents • Hebrews 11:23
“Moses’ Parents” • Hebrews 11:23 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. Continuing in the list of Old Testament saints, Elder Bryce teaches about the courage and ingenuity of Moses’ parents who acted in faith to save the life of their baby who would become the deliverer and Israel and a beautiful type of Jesus Christ.
This message was preached on Sunday, March 23, 2025
40. Moses’ Decision of Faith • Hebrews 11:24-26
“Moses’ Decision of Fatih” • Hebrews 11:24-26 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. The next example of living by faith in Hebrews, Chapter 11 is Moses. Here, the Apostle lists more than one act of faith by Moses. His first act was a decision. Moses decided to be identified with the people of God rather than continue being called part of the royal family in Egypt. By rejecting his adoptive rights, Moses chose to suffer physically, financially, and in many other ways. The sole reason behind this decision was because he believed the promise of God and looked for the better resurrection that his forefathers sought.

41. Moses on the Backside of the Desert • Hebrews 11:26-27
“Moses on the Backside of the Desert” • Hebrews 11:26-27; Exodus 3-5 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. Between Moses’ decision of faith in Hebrews 11:26 and his courageously delivering Israel from Egyptian bondage in verse 27, Moses had a lot of growth in grace and faith that needed to happen so that he could be the proper instrument of God’s deliverance. Moses’ zeal got ahead of God’s timing when he killed the Egyptian and had to flee to Midian. While there, Moses learns patience, obedience, and how to trust the promises of God. These lesson prepared him to lead Israel to the promised land.
This message was preached on Sunday, April 6, 2025.
42. Moses the Deliverer • Hebrews 11:27-28
“Moses the Deliverer” • Hebrews 11:27-28 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. The Apostle Paul continues showing how faith is fully trusting the words and promises of God by showing that Moses faithfully returned from the dessert to boldly deliverer the children of Israel from their bondage in Egypt.
This message was preached on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
43. Crossing the Red Sea • Hebrews 11:29
“Crossing the Red Sea” • Hebrews 11:29 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. The next example of faith that the Apostle gives in Hebrews is when the children of Israel crossed through the Red Sea on dry ground. This amazing example of trusting the word of God had the Israelites step into the midst of towering waters to escape the hands of Pharaoh. This message was preached on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
44. Faith at Jericho • Hebrews 11:30-31
“Faith at Jericho” • Hebrews 11:30-31 – Elder Bryce Lowrance – The next example of faith the Apostle uses in Hebrews is two-fold. The Israelites trusted the word of God that He would give them the city of Jericho if they simply walked around the city. Rahab believed God would give the Israelites the city as well, so she hid the spies and made a contract with them to spare her. Both believed that God would deliver them. One was delivered when the walls fell. The other was delivered when the walls stayed up!

45. Gideon • Hebrews 11:32a
“Gideon” • Hebrews 11:32a – Elder Bryce Lowrance When God came to Gideon he was threshing wheat hiding behind a winepress but God did not see him as a coward. God called Gideon a mighty man of valor because of what God was going to do with him! When we walk by faith and feel the fellowship of God in our lives, we can better understand how God views us as perfect through the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ.
This message was preached on Sunday, June 8, 2025
46. Barak • Hebrews 11:32b
“Barak” • Hebrews 11:32 & Judges 4 – Elder Bryce Lowrance – Barak is an interesting example of faith because his faith was mixed with some fear. He does not allow his fear to stop him but uses faith to continue trusting in the promise of God. Even though a woman receives the glory of the victory over Sisera, Barak believes the word of God and leads 10,000 foot soldiers against the mighty iron chariots of Sisera.

47. Samson • Hebrews 11:32c
“Samson” • Hebrews 11:32c & Judges 13-16 – Elder Bryce Lowrance. Samson is a clear case of the sovereignty of God in deliverance. God set a side Samson from before he was born, and despite his continual disobedience and horrible choices, God uses him to deliver Israel from the Philistines.

48. Jepthae • Hebrews 11:32d
“Jepthae” • Hebrews 11:32d – Elder Bryce Lowrance – Preaching from Judges 10-12, Elder Lowrance shows that God can and does use people from various backgrounds. Even though Jepthae was driven away from his father’s house by his half-brothers, he became a great deliverer of Israel and head over his brethren. Infamously remembered for his foolish vow, the story of Jepthae reminds us that we should still trust God and His word even when we are filled with the Holy Spirit. We are not a liberty to say and do whatever we want.
